I am a patient of Zen Smiles Dentistry. I was looking for a new dentist as my previous dentist no longer accepted Delta Dental. I had my hygienist Amy and Dr. Anandika Aggarwal for my first appointment and both are pleasant and professional. I had a gap where my molar was previously removed when it cracked. She gave me three options to consider. There was no pressure. I also had to get fillings for the next appointment and she offered me options on whether to get anesthesia or not so I said not. It didn’t hurt so I avoided a shot. She was careful and thorough, so I am very happy with my experience. Dr. Aggarwal is polite, thoughtful and caring as well. Thanks to her and her staff, I am less afraid of dentist visits.

In 2019, I had a emergency molar extraction that was started by another dentist. During that visit my tooth was broken off by the previous dentist. I searched and no dentist could see me. I was happy I found Dr. Anderson. I called their office and spoke to their assistant Patti. She was able to get me in the very next day.
During that visit, Dr. Anderson was able to get the rest of the tooth out and the roots, he made sure I was comfortable during the procedure. He followed up with me after the procedure.
During my post operative appointment, I was able to address some ongoing concerns I had regarding my TMJ and other failing dental work. I had extreme TMJ for over 20 years that had caused me pain and severe migraines.
I wasn’t surprised that Dr. Anderson is one of the top maxillofacial specialists in the country!
He was able to put together a treatment plan to alleviate and correct the TMJ. Not every dentist is able to do the procedure. He was able to do something called a K7 treatment on me. This was to determine where my “bite” should be.
His treatment plan was reasonable, and he was able to work with my finances. After the K7 treatment, he had me wear an orthotic nightguard that opened my bite to alleviate the pain and discomfort. From there he worked with a local dental lab to make a mixture of crowns and veneers to “open my bite”
Fast forward to 2021, my smile is beautiful, and I have no pain. I continue to see Dr. Anderson every 6 months for my cleanings. Not only is his staff amazing, but his bedside manner is great also. When you are in the dental chair, I know he is focused on my teeth and overall health.
He was also able to offer sedation during these procedures, which was very helpful. He made me feel comfortable and I have an amazing outcome. I recommend him to everyone!
I had many options to choose from with my insurance, I researched all of my options and decided to go see Dr. Sean Anderson. When I called for the appointment the friendly receptionist answered my questions and easily made an appointment for cleaning and exam. The small office is located in an older part of San Ramon, easy to find. Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed and almost immediately taken back. My cleaning was awesome, Jenn was gentle and really friendly. Meeting Dr. Anderson was so nice, he’s a very friendly guy and took great care during the exam. I went back the following week for minor cosmetics, he was awesome. I recently lost a crown and went back for the replacement. It all went smoothly and Dr. Anderson was so gentle (especially with the shots). I recommend him to locals who need a great dentist.

I started having neck and facial pain as well as increased tooth wear and sensitivity as a result of clenching and grinding my teeth at night. My husband told me he would wake to my clicking and teeth grinding at night which I soon learned was called bruxism; often a symptom of TMJ. Due to the excessive ware on my teeth, serious dental issues were also arising. Seeking relief from TMJ and after researching credentials, I sought treatment from Dr. Sean Anderson. During my initial exam, we discussed my symptoms and how my bite had closed over the years resulting in my bruxism and deterioration of my teeth. Dr. Anderson used Neuromuscular techniques to find the precise jaw position for me and performed the dental restorations necessary to ensure we had the correct position for my jaw to rest comfortably. I really did not understand the full significance of what was happening but the results were incredible.
The facial pain, bruxism and other symptoms I had lived with for the past few years disappeared. And I have a lovely, bright smile as a benefit. Dr. Anderson and his team are very professional and provide caring attentive service. They did a great job of informing me about the procedures, addressing my concerns regarding discomfort, and explaining what I could expect. Dr. Sean Anderson is an incredibly knowledgeable and compassionate dental specialist who has made the difference between a pain-free life and a pain-filled life for me. After 20 years of trying every solution for jaw pain (including adult orthodontia and lower jaw surgery), I came to Dr. Anderson three years ago with a left jaw socket that would pop out of joint when I opened my mouth wide enough to eat and, insultingly enough, to laugh! I would have to manually hold my lower jaw and ease it back into the joint. Dr. Anderson’s neuromuscular approach gave me new hope that I wouldn’t have to live the rest of my life like this. Through electronic stimulation and relaxation of the facial muscles, we were able to get my jaw in a normal, functioning (and, more importantly, pain-free) position within a matter of weeks. Then, after a few months of working together to ensure my bite was settled into the most optimum position, we proceeded with the complete restoration. My jaw now works beautifully, I am not in pain, my teeth are sparkling white and I constantly receive compliments on my smile! All thanks go to Dr. Anderson and his supportive and caring staff!
Dr. Anderson, It has been almost a year since you performed my complete dental reconstruction. Not only is my smile still beautiful, but I have noticed a number of unanticipated benefits to my health and well being. For many years I suffered with debilitating migraine headaches…sometimes as often as on a weekly basis. I missed work, vacations, and important family events due to the incapacitating pain. There were times when the warning lights associated with migraines would send me into despair… just anticipating the one to three days of intense pain and isolation that was to follow. As the years progressed and the trail of specialists grew longer, new medications provided some relief. Always, though, the migraines were like closet monsters… waiting for any lapse in vigilance to pounce. Then, I turned 50. I didn’t like the aged look of my teeth and realized I had been only half smiling for a number of years. My regular dentist advised me that I would have to wear braces for a couple of years prior to getting veneers. Somehow, that just didn’t seem like something I wanted to do, so I placed the whole idea on the back burner. I never lost my fascination with beautiful smiles and the thought that just maybe there was something doable… after all, people with much worse bites than mine were getting remade left and right on television. Ultimately, you performed the reconstruction. Never did I think that all of this could lead to relief from my migraines. I never had any jaw pain or any other clue that my bite was contributing to the awful condition. The upshot of the tale is that I have not had one migraine since my procedure. I went to Dr. Anderson with several problems including TMJ, tetracycline lines and stains, and minor alignment problems. Dr. Anderson thoroughly went through all the potential treatment options with all the pros and cons of each treatment and gave me significant time to evaluate all the options. After selecting a treatment, Dr. Anderson’s team worked very hard to schedule around my hectic business and travel schedule. A difficult treatment was performed nearly flawlessly, went smoothly and every step was explained so I had no surprises.
